LARIMAR CITY SPONSORS PUNTA CANA'S FIRST WOMEN'S RACE
LARIMAR IS SPORT
Larimar City is driving the first International Women's Race in Punta Cana as a commitment to wellbeing and female leadership.
Larimar City takes a further step in its commitment to wellbeing, community, and female leadership by supporting the first edition of the International Women's Race in Punta Cana, an event that marks a milestone in the region and is born with the ambition to become a sporting, social, and cultural reference.
Driven from within the company by Ana Sánchez, this initiative represents much more than a sporting event. It's a statement of principles. A movement that connects with the essence of Larimar City & Resort: building a city where quality of life isn't an aspirational concept but a tangible reality.
The official presentation of the race took place today before the media, gathering more than a dozen outlets that wanted to learn first-hand about a proposal that places women at the center — not only of sport but also of social change.
The race, taking place on May 3 at Cocotal Golf & Country, Bávaro – Punta Cana, is designed to welcome more than 300 women of all levels, from regular runners to beginners and walkers, with 5K and 10K distances. An openness that responds to a clear goal: foster women's participation in sport and build an active, inclusive, and committed community.
But the impact goes beyond the route. According to the event itself, the inclusion of women in running not only broadens sports participation, but also drives gender equality, community health, and cultural transformation. This approach connects directly with Larimar City's vision — a city conceived through conscious planning, where urbanism, technology, and nature integrate to improve people's lives.
Supporting this race isn't a one-off action: it's a natural extension of our values. At Larimar we believe in sport as a tool of transformation. In wellbeing as a driver of development. And in female leadership as an essential engine of any society that aspires to evolve.
The Women's Race is also an internationally proven model. With more than two decades of trajectory around the world, it has demonstrated its ability to mobilize, inspire, and generate real impact. Its arrival in Punta Cana opens a new chapter, now for the first time. An opportunity to consolidate an active lifestyle in the Caribbean and to reinforce the region's positioning not only as a tourist destination but also as a destination of wellbeing and community.
An occasion that the Dominican Republic's Minister of Women has supported and will honor with her presence on the day.
From Larimar City, we understand that the cities of the future are defined not only by their infrastructure but by the experiences they create and the people who inhabit them.
