Larimar City & Resort present at the official celebration of Hispanic Heritage Day in the Dominican Republic

The official residence of the Spanish Embassy in the Dominican Republic was the setting for the traditional reception on the occasion of Spain's National Day, held on October 16. More than a thousand figures from the country's political, economic, social, and cultural life gathered at this event, which reaffirmed the close historical and strategic ties between both nations.

The host of the evening, Lorea Arribalzaga Ceballos, Spain's Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, received the guests accompanied by the embassy's Minister Counselor, Ignacio Sánchez de Lerín. The Dominican Chancellor Roberto Álvarez attended as guest of honor, along with prominent national authorities: former President Leonel Fernández, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs Víctor "Ito" Bisonó, the Minister of Energy and Mines Joel Santos, the Minister of the Interior and Police, and the Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso, among other senior institutional representatives.

A space for diplomacy and international projection

Representing CLERHP Estructuras, S.A., the Spanish company developing Larimar City & Resort, four members of its management team attended:

The Larimar representatives were personally received by Ambassador Lorea Arribalzaga Ceballos, accompanied by Minister Counselor Ignacio Sánchez de Lerín, with whom they shared a protocol greeting that underscored the company's role as a country brand in the Dominican Republic.

During the evening, CLERHP's president and business director held direct conversations with Minister Ito Bisonó and Minister Joel Santos, in an atmosphere of institutional cordiality that allowed them to exchange views on investment, cooperation, and development opportunities in strategic sectors such as tourism, energy, and infrastructure.

Brotherhood, cooperation, and shared opportunities

In her speech, Ambassador Arribalzaga highlighted the privileged nature of the bilateral relations, united not only by history but by a relationship of brotherhood that projects toward the future. She emphasized Spain's commitment to the Dominican Republic's development and recalled that 2027 will mark forty years of Spanish cooperation in the country.

She also highlighted Spain's economic relevance in the region: "In 2023 and 2024 we were the second-largest source of foreign direct investment flow into the country," she noted. Spain currently has more than 200 companies established in the Dominican Republic and is the top foreign investor in the tourism sector.

For his part, Chancellor Roberto Álvarez reflected on the contemporary meaning of Hispanidad, defining it as "a community of affection and work," based on the shared language and on the diversity of its accents. He also proposed three fundamental commitments for the future: dignity and rights, shared prosperity, and education as a bridge to development.

Culture and country-brand projection

The reception, sponsored by seventy companies and establishments, has consolidated itself as one of the most anticipated events on the institutional calendar of both countries. The evening was enlivened by the musical performance of Techy Fatule, which put a festive cap on a night marked by diplomacy and cultural celebration.
