Groundbreaking of the La Otra Banda Boulevard – Coral Highway

An infrastructure that will strengthen Punta Cana connectivity and place Larimar City just 15 minutes from its main points

La Altagracia province continues to advance its development with the start of a new strategic road infrastructure. This Friday saw the groundbreaking ceremony for the La Otra Banda Boulevard – Coral Highway, a project that will mark a before and after in connectivity for the eastern Dominican Republic.

The new road will more efficiently connect the La Otra Banda Municipal District with the Coral Highway, making access from Santo Domingo easier and improving mobility to the country's main tourist destinations. With an estimated investment of USD 4 million and a length of 2.7 kilometers, this boulevard will help drive the economic, urban, and tourism activity of the surrounding area. According to the press note released after the event, completion is expected by December 2026.

For residential and tourism projects like Larimar City, this infrastructure represents a key step forward. The new connection will place the development just 15 minutes from the main points of Punta Cana, strengthening accessibility from Santo Domingo, Punta Cana, and some of the best beaches in the Caribbean.

An institutional event reflecting the public-private partnership

The event gathered authorities, institutional representatives, and members of the local community. Notable attendees included Monseñor Jesús Castro Marte, who offered the project's opening blessing, as well as municipal and provincial representatives linked to regional development.

Also present were ADITOP (Association of Real Estate and Tourism Developers of La Otra Banda Punta Cana) and ALETA (La Altagracia Tourism Business Alliance), organizations that drive orderly and sustainable growth in the region.

On behalf of CLERHP, several company executives took part, including Pedro Romero, Juan Andrés Romero, and Daniel Malky, along with other members of the corporate team. On behalf of the company, Pedro Romero performed the symbolic first dig, a gesture that officially marks the start of works on this infrastructure.

During the institutional remarks, the value of public-private development was highlighted — visible today in this project and aimed at driving the region's growth always for the benefit of people and the community's social progress.

Infrastructure that accompanies the Caribbean's growth

The new boulevard is designed to improve mobility for residents and visitors, ease congestion on other tourist routes, and reinforce the urban development of the La Otra Banda Municipal District — an area with increasingly relevant demographic and tourism growth.

This kind of infrastructure not only connects territories but drives progress, raises tourism competitiveness, and supports the Dominican Republic's growth as one of the Caribbean's most dynamic destinations.

In this context, Larimar City is part of this transformation, integrating into a setting that continues to evolve with new infrastructure, services, and projects that reinforce Punta Cana's positioning as one of the region's major investment and development hubs.
