Precision, technique, and teamwork in drafting international projects

1. Who is Rubén Rodríguez?

I'm a draftsman by profession, deeply tied to technical drawing from the start. I began working in architecture studios, where I learned the importance of detail and doing things right from the base. Then I went through industrial engineering, where I broadened my technical perspective before joining CLERHP.

I've been at the company for 8 years now, a period in which I've had the opportunity to grow into the role of head of the drafting department. During this time I've worked on international projects in countries like Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and the Dominican Republic — experiences that constantly force you to adapt and learn from each project.

At CLERHP we've also lived through complicated moments, especially during the pandemic. Those were tough times for everyone, but I believe what mattered most was keeping the team spirit and supporting each other to keep going. I've always tried to contribute exactly that: commitment, camaraderie, and an organized way of working so the department functions as a team.

In addition to my work in drafting, I also handle the IT side of the company in Spain, helping to keep the technical environment running so the team can work normally.

And outside of work I have another great passion: music. In my free time I'm a professional DJ, something that lets me disconnect, be creative, and enjoy a totally different facet.

2. What is your role within the company?

Currently I'm head of the drafting department at CLERHP Estructuras. My job is to coordinate the production of structural plans and ensure that all the graphical information of the projects is clear, precise, and useful for proper execution on-site.

We work very closely with the engineering team, transforming structural calculations into detailed plans that then guide construction. I also organize the department's work so projects progress in an orderly fashion and within deadlines.

In addition, in the Spain office I also provide support in the IT area, helping manage the equipment and tools we use day to day. In the end, it's all part of the same thing: trying to give the team the means to work well so the projects move forward.

3. What captured you about Larimar City & Resort?

Larimar City & Resort is one of those projects that, when you get to know it, you understand it's something really special. It's not just an urban development — it's the creation of a city with a very ambitious, long-term vision.

In my case, I also had the chance to experience it very directly. This past October I was there for a month working and seeing first-hand the project's first progress in the cliff area. Being on-site and seeing the first steps of something so big start to materialize was an impressive experience.

The project's location is simply incredible. Being there, seeing the surroundings and understanding the real scale of what is being developed makes you realize its potential. The truth is I was very impressed; to say it surprised me would be an understatement.

From a professional standpoint, taking part in a project of this magnitude is highly motivating. It means facing new technical challenges, coordinating many elements, and being part of something that goes far beyond a conventional project.

Larimar represents a new chapter for CLERHP, and after seeing it with my own eyes, the excitement and the drive to contribute to its success are even greater.
