The CLERHP management team visits Ferralia

August 27, 2025 Larimar Team

The CLERHP management team visits the Grupo Ferralia factory in Punta Cana

Ferralia Group welcomes the CLERHP leadership at its new DR plant

In a decisive step to ensure efficiency and quality in one of the project's key construction items — the supply and integral execution of the set of corrugated steel structures for the Larimar City project — the CLERHP management team in Punta Cana visited the modern facilities of Grupo Ferralia on August 14, 2025.

This visit is part of the collaboration agreement signed in July 2025, through which both companies consolidated a strategic alliance to carry out the integral execution of the contract — providing the project with efficient industrial management that guarantees demanding deadlines and impacts the optimization of time and costs in the development of Larimar City in the Dominican Republic.

Grupo Ferralia will work exclusively with Metaldom, a multinational company and the largest steel manufacturer in the Dominican Republic. Both companies maintain a strategic alliance that they make available to the project, giving Larimar City the guarantee, solidity, and backing of having two industry references.

A key alliance in the heart of Punta Cana

Larimar City consolidates its infrastructure with a high-level industrial ally: Ferralia Group. This group — a leading industrial operator in integral corrugated steel services — has more than 70 years of experience in the supply, preparation, assembly, and installation of structural steel.

Grupo Ferralia has global presence, including operations in Panama, Colombia, Uruguay, and Peru, in addition to its presence in different European countries. Its productive capacity is notable: more than 3,200 employees worldwide, 12 industrial plants, and an installed annual capacity of more than 468 thousand tons. These figures reflect a solid operational strength that backs its reputation in major international projects.

Getting to know the plant on site

The tour was led by Eusebio Cebrián, Ferralia's Operations Manager for the Dominican Republic, who was accompanied by the President of the CLERHP Group, Mr. Juan Andrés Romero, and outstanding members of his team — composed of seven executives involved in the Larimar City & Resort project — who had the opportunity to observe firsthand the production processes:

  • Distribution, organization, and traceability of the material — the facilities are equipped to guarantee the control and quality of the steel, as well as its optimal preservation.
  • A demanding health and safety management.
  • Cutting, bending through modern industrial machinery that automates and optimizes processes.
  • Industrial pre-assembly production process of structures through specialized machinery.

This is key management that, in coordination with the on-site execution teams and their technical office (OT), reduces deadlines and ensures quality in rebar execution — in addition to reducing on-site labor risks. Automatic continuous bar-connection systems. Grupo Ferralia, through its strategic alliance with the French Bartec group (Linxion), implements in the project a bar connection system through continuity connectors, providing the splice with greater resistance that improves structural integrity and offers greater resistance against earthquakes and fatigue. It also eliminates bar congestion, improving the quality of concrete pouring and structure finishing.

Strategic and highly relevant projects such as the Grand Paris metro lines, the new Lima airport (the largest in the Latin American region), the Monaco caissons, or the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal have incorporated this system — which is certified by UK BS8010, NF35010, and ISO15835 standards, and are type 2 connectors according to ACI.

In addition to raising the solidity and resistance of the reinforcement to the highest standard, this system will directly impact the reduction of the carbon footprint. Recent studies show that embodied carbon in new buildings represents 11% of global emissions. This system will allow us — through the reduction of steel volume, the number of transports, scrap, and energy consumption — to reduce embodied carbon, making Larimar City a benchmark in ecological construction. This is part of the project's priorities within the commitment of its developers.

We also had the opportunity to meet firsthand the entire technical office (OT) team — a specialized and highly experienced team that supports the project's operation through advanced cutting techniques and programs and Building Information Modeling (BIM) models.

All of this in a plant with high productive capacity installed in an area of 10,000 m², which guarantees a continuous and efficient production flow. The location of this factory, strategically close to the Larimar construction area, guarantees the project's demanding needs and provides priority response capacity in the face of any contingency. This structure and its proximity are key to maintaining the work schedule and optimizing costs in this phase of the project.

Benefits for Larimar City and its investors

This agreement with the group provides multiple advantages:

  • Guarantees the fulfillment of the necessary production levels and therefore meeting — or even reducing — execution deadlines.
  • Agility, control, and organization, a key aspect: the management of the steel contract is one of the key aspects in this stage. Grupo Ferralia provides the project with industrial and efficient management, guaranteeing control and organization through modern procedures and specialized teams in all areas. In addition, having the factory practically integrated on-site eliminates any risk or uncertainty in the entire management of the contract.
  • Guaranteed quality: a partner with track record and professionalism in structural steel treatment strengthens the project's solidity.
  • Cost efficiency: a specialized technical office working in advance, a modern industrial plant, and a specialized and experienced on-site execution team develop integral management of the contract that efficiently impacts the entire value chain. This ensures that the contract doesn't suffer cost overruns or deviations in planning — which translates into a guarantee of return for investors and clients.
  • Visibility for the investor: knowing the production process and the real supply capacity allows conveying trust to buyers and stakeholders.

A project that transcends the local

Grupo Ferralia has been present in emblematic real estate and civil projects internationally — airports, sports stadiums, healthcare complexes, financial campuses, infrastructure projects such as metro lines, highways, railways, maritime projects, dams, ports, energy plants, and iconic works in all the countries where it operates. This experience contributes to raising the technical and management standard at Larimar City, projecting the work toward global standards.

In conclusion, CLERHP's visit to the Ferralia facilities on August 14, 2025, following the collaboration agreement signed in July of this same year, isn't just a symbolic gesture — it's a tangible demonstration of how a well-placed strategic alliance can be decisive in the success of an ambitious development like Larimar City.

Through a privileged location, robust production, and efficient resource use, this agreement consolidates the foundations on which a planned, sustainable, future-oriented city will be built. For Larimar's readers and investors, this type of collaboration represents an additional guarantee: because behind the attractive design and the privileged setting of Punta Cana, there's a solid industrial structure backing the urban dream that today begins to materialize.
