We sat down with Edgar Mendoza

August 14, 2025 Larimar Team

We sat down quietly to chat with Edgar Mendoza

His defining traits are clear: loyalty, commitment, dedication… all heart. His professionalism is excellent. Today we get to know a little more about this Paraguayan living in the Dominican Republic, who manages the sales administration at Larimar City & Resort.

We asked him…

… about his journey to the project. In a warm, easygoing tone — radiating peace — he tells us, simply but in great detail, how he reached the Dominican Republic with a relentless work ethic. He has worked tirelessly throughout his life, because he can't imagine working without giving himself completely. That's why we open this series of longer, more personal interviews with him: he's one of those people on the team who make you feel like family when you're far from home. He builds family in the Dominican Republic.

He tells us how, step by step, he has been fulfilling professional dreams thanks to clear goals and firm objectives. In his home country, he worked at a public company where he still has great friendships, and he also worked at the family business, where he learned the ins and outs of how people work and what companies really need. That's why when he sees something pending, he simply does it — even if it means more workload. He can't conceive doing it any other way.

It was thanks to a brilliant woman — as he describes her —

… that he learned about the project. Claudia Jara, his wife, had been working at CLERHP since 2016, always in the accounting department at the company's Paraguay office. With the desire to go further and seeing in the multinational an opportunity they'd been looking for, they accepted the challenge — even if it meant leaving family behind. In 2023, our CEO threw the gauntlet to Claudia, who, naturally, consulted Edgar. His response, very on-brand, was: "Did you say yes?"

We looked at each other and laughed — as always — because his gaze is complicit. They are very family-oriented people, but they decided to leave their comfort zone, move to the Dominican Republic, and start over. Their goal: to grow not only professionally but also as people. Both are passionate about continuing to learn and grow — not only themselves, but also their teams.

We asked him about his beginnings on the project and whether he had been in administration from the start. He confesses that no: first he was in accounting, but always with the desire to help more. Two people on the team thought he could be useful in launching a new department: sales. That's how he started combining both roles… though he never went back to accounting. The reason — though he won't say it — is that he became indispensable. Today he coordinates several people so that every sale's documentation and follow-up is impeccable. It's not just perfectionism — it's a love of helping colleagues and supporting the company's growth.

His humanity goes further. Many of us agree that his dedication is always "a little extra," a product of his sense of responsibility and commitment. He speaks with admiration about our CEO, Juan Andrés Romero, and about how he makes us part of creating this great company. "If you're given trust, you're given responsibility," he says. And his way of thanking it is by giving his all.

His schedule is marked by the frantic pace of sales, but you'll never catch him looking annoyed. He always has time to say hello, smile, and dedicate a few minutes to his team to talk without rushing, listening to their wishes and aspirations. He gets emotional seeing the effort of his colleagues juggling family, work, and studies, though he forgets to acknowledge his own merit. Always encouraging those around him, always cheerful, always with that special light in his gaze. He seems tireless… or at least he never tells us. By his side, Claudia, keeping the same rhythm with the same warmth and smile.

Before saying goodbye, he tells us that for those of us far from our land and family, coworkers become family. And that's true: he's the best family anyone could have near — not just when you're away from home, but at any time. Always close… that's where we'd all want to be alongside Edgar and Claudia. You can't talk about his professional side without mentioning his personal charisma: a leader for all of us.
Maybe that's what Edgar likes most about the company: knowing he's part of something much bigger than himself. A project that involves people, dedication, and care. Just as he lives it every day.

Thank you, Edgar, on behalf of the whole team, for always taking care of every detail. Yes, you're an important part of all of us, and of our clients too. Edgar, the best ally for Larimar City & Resort.
